News Latest News Giving Back

When my sisters and I started this business, we not only wanted to create high quality, high value products…we wanted also to create a company that gave back to others.

Recently, in partnership with Starwood Hotels, Inlight undertook a project to provide furnishings for a brand new Ronald McDonald House being built in Valhalla, New York. Established in 1974, Ronald McDonald House Charities’ mission is to create, find and support programs that directly improve and affect the health and well being of children. One of the cornerstones of fulfilling their mission is the Ronald McDonald Houses which provide housing and support to sick children and their families at their weakest moments.

When Katie Astuto, Design Manager for Starwood Hotels, asked us to donate lighting fixtures for this project, we were happy to say yes. We recently completed production of six Unilight Cisco fixtures which will be installed in the family room at the Valhalla Ronald McDonald House.

Below is a photo of General Manager, Powan Liang (my sister, on the far left), and members of our Unilight China staff with the completed fixtures, fresh off the assembly line: Candy Tam, project supervisor; Eli Lei, project coordinator; Garay Liu, design and engineering supervisor; Jack Fung, designer; and Jia-Long Lei, director of production.

Inlight International and Ronald McDonald House Charities

This project is one that has touched the hearts of everyone here at Inlight. Sometimes the best feelings come not from what you can do, but what you can give. PS: If you’re reading this and curious to find out how you can contribute to Ronald McDonald House Charities efforts, go to http://rmhc.org.
